The Acura TLX is a mid-size luxury sedan manufactured by Acura, the luxury vehicle division of Honda. Mike Accavitti, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Acura Division, knows the brand needs to up its sedan game. While strong demand for the new Acura MDX and RDX crossovers has helped the automaker maintain its overall volume, sales of the RLX, TL and TSX sedans continue to struggle. After acknowledging the success of Acura’s crossovers, Accavitti told reporters during the TLX press launch, “We’re turning our attention and our efforts to the sedan side of our business.”

In a move that streamlines Acura’s sedan offering (and undoubtedly reflects increasing pressure from parent Honda to streamline costs at Acura…), the TLX will replace the current TL and the discontinued TSX. Acura representatives told us the current TL was too large to be a fully competitive midsize sports sedan, while the TSX didn’t have the performance or refinement needed for the segment. The 2015 TLX will straddle these outgoing models.

The Acura NSX won’t be in customers’ hands until spring, but we’re getting a better look at the various permutations in which it will be offered. During Monterey Car Week, Acura showed the NSX in two previously unseen colors, Nouvelle Blue Pearl and Berlina Black, alongside the now-familiar Valencia Red Pearl.

In total, Acura plans to offer eight colors at launch: the three mentioned above, plus Rivazza (solid) Red, Copse Green Metallic, matte white, pearl white, and silver. Additionally, there will be several interior color schemes: saddle, orchid, red, and all black. The non-black colors can have black seat inserts. Upholstery choices are full leather or leather and faux suede. There will be three factory wheel choices with at least one more offered as a dealer accessory. Standard is the Y-spoke wheel, with the Interwoven wheel optional and available in two different finishes. All wheels measure 19 inches in the front and 20 inches at the rear.

The result, Klaus says, is that “you don’t have to trail brake to plant the front end.”

The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined sports car built by Koenigsegg Automotive AB. The project began with the aim of making a global car, designed and engineered to comply with global safety and environment regulations, particularly to enter the United States car market. To sell cars in the US many alterations were made to the design of the CCR; the previously used Ford Modular engine was replaced by a Koenigsegg engine designed to run on 91 octane fuel, readily available in the United States, and to meet the Californian emission standards.

The CCX was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, sporting body modifications to meet US regulations and a new 4.7 L twin supercharged V8 engine capable of producing 806 PS (593 kW; 795 hp) at 7000 rpm and 920 N·m (679 lb·ft) at 5700 rpm of torque while running on 91 octane gasoline.

CCXR was truly a wonder car. It took care of performance as well as in-cabin comfort to make the car livable. For safety CCXR had dual air bags, and bucket seat with safety harness. Seats, pedals and steering wheels were completely adjustable according to the users’ preference. Among other gadgetry, the car had a satellite navigation system, music system with USB connection, climate control, G-sensor, tire-pressure monitoring and digital temperature warning system.

CCXR looked quite similar to CCX. Like any top grade street legal supercar, it’s a two-seater coupe. Hardtop of the car was removable and could be stored in the front boot. Sturdy body frame was constructed with carbon fiber and Kevlar composite along with lightweight sandwiched reinforcements. Dimension-wise, CCXR was 4293 mm long and 1996 mm wide. Low drag area, flat underbody, venture tunnel and rear spoiler are some of the basic exterior features. They helped the car to attain low drag coefficient of only 0.33 and also made the car lot stable even at top of the scale speed.

The new engine is of all aluminum construction, made out of 356 aluminum with a T7 heat treat to further enhance block integrity and cylinder bore chill during casting. Specifically created and cast for Koenigsegg by Grainger & Worrall, a casting specialist with F1 experience in drivetrain components, the engine is built, assembled and tested at their Ängelholm production plant. The engine is lubricated with a dry sump system with a separate oil pump and the pistons are cooled by means of an internal cooler that sprays oil onto them in order to run high cylinder pressure with 91 octane fuel  making it capable of 14 mpg (17 l/100 km) in combined cycle and 18 mpg (13 l/100 km) in highway travel.

The chassis is made from carbon fiber reinforced with kevlar and aluminium honeycomb like previous models and while the body keeps the targa top body style and the "dihedral synchro-helix" actuation doors it is completely reworked, there is a new front bumper design, enhanced brake cooling, fog lamps, US position lights, a new fresh air intake on the bonnet that acts as ram air booster, air intakes behind the front wheels to enhance airflow and a glass window over the engine.

The CCXR is a more "environmentally friendly" version of the CCX, powered by the same engine, but converted to use E85 and E100 ethanol fuel, as well as standard 98 octane petrol. The CCXR required modified fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines and piston rings, and a higher boost setting on the superchargers.[10] When run on ethanol, the power increases to 1,018 PS (749 kW; 1,004 hp) at 7000 rpm and 1,060 N·m (782 lb·ft) of torque at 5600 rpm. This is a direct result of the cooling properties of ethanol in the engine's combustion chambers along with the added boost, made possible by ethanol's higher octane rating when compared to gasoline.

As the car was just being finished the FIA GT1 regulations were changed so that there had to be a minimum of 350 road cars produced per year of the model that was to compete, something that Koenigsegg was unable to achieve, prohibiting the CCGT from racing.

It is powered by a 4.7 liter V8 engine that delivers 450 HP - an improvement over the standard 405 HP - while still offering the same fuel consumption as a standard Gran Turismo. It also comes with an improved aerodynamic down force and will brake the 186 mph barrier.

Inspired by the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the race-winning GT4 motorsport models, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale special edition has been tweaked and modified as a direct result of the lessons learned from Maserati’s three racing programs. But what makes this vehicle even better is that it’s road legal.

The famous radiator grille has black vertical fillets, while the usual Trident in the centre sports red details: a finishing touch only used on the most powerful models in the Maserati range.

The GranCabrio Sport is a real four seater, allowing all passengers to enjoy the pleasure of open-top travel. The soft Poltrona Frau® leather, available in two new colours, Bianco Pregiato and Grigio Chrono, and the original central section of the M-design seats, whose contrast stitching is inspired by the sleek curves of the Maserati radiator grille, are classy details which cannot fail to impress.

Pretty wonderful to be honest, so long as you find the right road, the right weather and have the right attitude with which to drive it. But the key thing to realise is that despite the addition of a range of upgrades intended to make it more sporting, the GranCabrio Sport isn’t the bone rattling madman of a car you’d half expect it to be. It’s actually a much more complete machine than the regular GranCab, featuring a more mature ride, crisper feeling steering, much better body control and an exhaust note to die for – so long as you press the right button.

Do so and, at a stroke, the throttle response gets punchier, the dampers become stiffer, the steering weight deepens, the shift times within the excellent six-speed semi-automatic gearbox are cut – and the exhaust note goes completely berserk. The transformation is a bit like what happens when Clark Kent emerges from the telephone box, and the effect it has on the GranCabrio Sport’s personality is as close to total as it gets.

The famous Maserati 4.7 litre V8 installed on the GranCabrio Sport is able to deliver 460 HP (338 kW) at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 520 Nm thanks to a series of innovations to optimise its operation. It was designed with important innovations to reduce friction, such as the use of DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) for the tappets and camshaft lobes.

The gearbox offers a choice of five operating modes: Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and Ice. The exclusive MC Auto Shift function included in the transmission control software makes the car even more exciting to drive in a number of ways. For example, it includes electronic double declutching during downshifting and the MC Start Strategy high-performance start function that enables the car to leap from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds.
